My name is Clarisse Mefotso Fall, a public health specialist and the Executive Director of The African Hope Committee. I am also the Global President of the Global Project at AHC. My love for education and community work led me to establish this nonprofit in 2003 to increase health, social and immigration awareness/education in the African community and minority groups in New York and in other states as well as around the world, with a focus on Africa. The goal of the fundraising is to build a vocational center in a small rural village MEDJO in West Cameroon, where the organization has built a water pump to serve thousands of men, women and children in the village. The MEDJO center will bring in at least 500 youth, including women and young girls, each year for set activities. It will also serve as a daycare center because many kids in the village walk and run daily on the road alone while their parents are on the farm or at the marketplace to sell.
We ask that you please help us raise 100,000 to help build the center, purchase the equipment and supplies, install a solar panel to minimize the cost of electricity and train youth and women to run the center and finally purchase a small land for agriculture. Our major challenge to this vision is the lack of funds to enable me to bring this sustainable project to the village. We are projecting to build the vocational center by June 2023.
African Hope Committee is moving toward building sustainable and resilient urban and rural communities at local, national and global levels to promote solutions to the global challenges around health, economic, peace and social justice.
I therefore urge and solicit funds from the general public to enable our team to actualize our goals and, should I say, my dream.
Thank you from our youth volunteer team, the board and myself.
